Flyer maker

Type your event, choose a layout and an ink, and print a poster that people can read from across the street. Everything happens in your browser.

Words

Short and specific. It shrinks to fit, so fewer words means bigger letters.

How to make your flyer

  1. Type your words. Each box has its own place on the poster; leave a box empty and that part disappears.
  2. Pick a layout and an ink set. Showcard is type only, in the style of a wood-type poster; the others have room for a photo.
  3. Add a photo if it helps. It is read straight from your device and never uploaded.
  4. Press Print, or save a PDF from your browser's print dialog. PNG makes an image for a neighbourhood group or a chat.

Flyers people actually read

Most people glance at a flyer for a second or two while walking past, so it has to answer three questions at a glance: what is it, when, and where. Keep the headline to a few words; the maker sets it as large as the space allows, so every word you cut makes the rest bigger. Put the date in one consistent form, and check that the weekday matches the date. Save the details for people who stop.

Ask before pinning flyers inside shops, libraries or on private boards, check your area's rules about posting on poles, and take your flyers down after the event.

Printing tips

In the print dialog choose Actual size or 100% so the poster fills the sheet. The Black & white set is made for photocopiers and looks bold on coloured paper. Large colour areas use a lot of ink, so print one copy first.

Questions

Is my photo or text sent anywhere?

No. The poster is drawn by your browser. The photo is opened from your device and forgotten when you close the page; your words and settings are kept only in this browser's local storage so they are still there next time.

Why did my headline get smaller?

Every text block is fitted to its space. Long headlines wrap onto more lines and shrink until they fit. If a block cannot fit even at its smallest size, the maker cuts it short and tells you, so nothing spills off the page.

Can I save the flyer as a PDF?

Yes. Press Print and choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the printer. The PDF keeps the text sharp at any size.
